Congratulations! The Maginot Line was built in 1929, under the impetus of Paul Painlevé, Minister of War since 1924, and his successor in 1929, André Maginot.

The Maginot Line, built between 1929 and 1939, was made up of several types of fortified works. In 1939, before the outbreak of the Second World War, it comprised a total of 106 blocks:
44 artillery blocks
62 infantry blocks

In addition to these main blocks, the line also included 365 casemates, 89 shelters, 17 interval observatories and numerous small blockhouses.
. These fortifications stretched for some 750 km from northern France to the Mediterranean Sea.

Congratulations! The Maginot Line covered more than 700 kilometers, from the Ardennes to southern Alsace, and from Savoy to the Côte d'Azur.

In 1939, around 25,000 soldiers were assigned to the Maginot Line. These troops were responsible for defending the fortifications along this line, which stretched along the eastern border of France.

Congratulations! Construction of the Maginot Line lasted from 1929 to 1936. It was operational from the start of the Second World War.

Congratulations! This logo was inspired by the insignia of the troops of the Fortified Sector of Faulquemont. The falcon is symbolic of the town of Faulquemont, Falkenberg in German (“the mountain of falcons”).

Congratulations! The first infantry fortification in the Faulquemont fortified sector to be restored was Block 3 at Laudrefang. Work began in 2008.

Congratulations! In 2020, the ASFF presented a project for the creation of an 11 km memory trail, designed to link the 5 structures in the area. The communes, the Moselle Department and the Faulquemont Urban District rallied behind the project, which was still underway in 2024 and is gradually taking shape.
